Mauricio M.J.'s interview

For this project, I conducted a video interview with my mom about her experiences growing up as an immigrant from Guatemala and building her life in the United States. In our conversation, she reflects on the challenges of adapting to a new country, navigating school as an immigrant student, and the determination it took for her to pursue higher education. Her story highlights both the obstacles and opportunities that shaped her journey, from her early experiences in the U.S. education system to the path that eventually led her to earn a college degree. As a first-year student at the University of California, Santa Cruz, interviewing her gave me a deeper understanding of the sacrifices and resilience behind her story, while also connecting her experiences to my own educational journey.
